Local optometrist Eyecare Plus Bateau Bay focus on comprehensive eye examinations, prescription sunglasses, spectacle frames, contact lenses and eye health care for the whole family.
We have some of the latest equipment – including a Digital Retina Camera, an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) Non Contact Tonometer, and Field Screener, enabling Marc to fully take care of our diabetic patients & those with glaucoma or macular degeneration. The camera lets us take instant high resolution images of the inside of your eye. For the first time, you can see the back of your own eye! Marc will take time to explain each procedure, and we will have your retinal photograph available as a baseline for your next eye exam – making early detection of eye disease even more accurate than ever before. If you have diabetes – this test is essential. If you have any family history of glaucoma or macula degeneration – this test is essential. If you are over 40 and your vision is important to you – then this test is essential.
Your children’s eyes are also important and any undetected problems can cause major problems at school. We can provide comprehensive eye exams for your children at any age.
We proudly supply members of all major health funds, including:
- Defence Health
- Medibank Private
- Teachers Health
- Phoenix Health Fund
Health Fund members with a valid optical entitlement receive 1 pair of single vision glasses with no out of pocket expense.*
* Includes frames from a select range with standard SV Lenses.
Yes we still bulk bill for your convenience.
Please bring in your Medicare Card at the time of your consultation as we are continuing to bulk bill what we can after the federal government’s reduction in rebates to optometry in January 2015.
We highly recommend that all patients have a full macula scan at each full visit. The cost of this is $45 for adults and $15 for children.
Other tests are used on indication. Fees for those not covered by Medicare will be explained at the time of your full comprehensive consultation.
Spectacles start from $179, or 2 pairs for $249 for single vision complete spectacles. See Our Offers for more information about our spectacle pricing.
Contact lenses start from as little as $30 a box.
